Find Out Which Feeling You Are

There are multiple ways of finding out which feeling you are. Our personal favorite is an online test, like the one we have here. But, we can’t ignore the standard way people have been tackling this question for decades.

Think about yesterday and what emotions you felt throughout the day. Now think bigger. Are these same emotions persistent throughout your life? Are you joyful every day? Or, are you maybe angry most of the time? Whichever emotion dominates your memories, there’s a good chance that you are that emotion. If it sounds complicated, don’t worry, you can always take a quiz.

What Are Emotions?

Emotions are reactions people experience as a result of an event or a situation. Every time you receive good news, you experience joy. On the other hand, if you receive bad news, you will experience sadness or frustration. These experiences are what we call emotions.

We experience emotions all the time. Even when we are sitting and not thinking about anything, we can experience a wide array of emotions. Moreover, we make decisions based on our emotions daily. If a coffee from Starbucks makes you happy, while working out makes you stressed, you will choose to get a coffee based on the happy emotions it brings.

Types Of Emotions

Human beings can experience a wide range of emotions. In 1972, American psychologist Paul Ekman proposed six basic emotions that are shared throughout all cultures. They are fear, anger, surprise, disgust, sadness, and joy. Three decades later he expanded that list to include embarrassment, excitement, shame, contempt, pride, satisfaction, and amusement.

However, this list didn’t do a good job capturing all of the human emotions. After all, not every anger is the same. There are levels to it. On top of that, we rarely experience only one emotion at a time.

Psychologist Robert Plutchik created a wheel of emotions. Wheel of emotions is an emotion classification system that considers that people can feel multiple emotions at the same time. Furthermore, he portrayed how different emotions can be combined together.
