What Is FUBAR About?

FUBAR is a Netflix tv show that is centered around the Brunner’s. The father, Luke Brunner, is a seasoned CIA agent close to retirement. His plans shift suddenly when a field agent gets compromised and he has to extract them.

It turns out that the agent in question is his daughter. Together, they try to stop Boro, a notorious arms dealer trying to sell a nuclear bomb while repairing their relationship.

Luke

Luke is a seasoned CIA officer on the brink of retirement. After his last mission, he desires to win back his wife and sail the world with her. However, he’s put back on the field in an extraction mission of a compromised CIA agent, his daughter Emma.

He is an old-fashioned man with certain beliefs. Luke thinks women shouldn’t swear and is immensely proud that his daughter grew up without swearing, smoking, or drinking. Little does he know she is a trained agent like him who does all those things. He has a lot of experience which is seen in his decision-making. He doesn’t rush into a conflict, instead, he tries to make the situation favorable for himself.

Emma

Emma is seemingly a loving and caring daughter who provides water to those in need. But, that’s all just a facade. She is a CIA agent just like her father. She joined the agency immediately after college. According to the tests, her problem-solving skills and IQ are both off the charts. On the other hand, she is hot-headed and tends to take stupid risks.

She despises her dad because he was never around. Furthermore, he blames him for her parent’s divorce. That led to her being independent and not wanting help from anyone. She even broke contact with the CIA when they informed her that she has been compromised.

Barry

Barry is a computer genius. Due to his heart condition, he is not a field agent. Furthermore, he is a terrible shot. He is a very loyal friend and will go to great lengths to help them. When Luke was mad at him, he took it to heart and was relieved to hear that they are still friends. That just further shows his soft and emotional side.

According to Luke, Barry loves sweets, sour patches, and crunchies in particular. In addition to that, he watches cartoons. Despite his fellow agents' hatred towards Tina, and NSA in general, he is very fond of her.

Carter

Carter is Emma’s boyfriend. He is a sweet teacher who hates taking risks. He turns down Emma’s offer to go to an escape room because he was scared of the tiny shocks he would get. He is also a romantic, as seen when he gives Emma a gift he made alongside his students.

Boro

Boro is the main antagonist of the show. He is the son of a ruthless arms dealer Luke killed. Luke felt bad for leaving him without a father, so he took care of him from afar. Most notably, he paid for his education.

He is a tenacious person with brilliant problem-solving skills. Boro took over his father’s empire to make the world know who his father was. Furthermore, he is an irrational person with a huge ego. Lastly, he has no moral compass. He takes pride in providing guns that cause deaths, and will quickly get rid of anyone he doesn’t trust.
