There is no rule for how often the change occurs. For some people, it might be regular, whereas others might find changes in their sexuality erratic.

The prefix “abro” comes from Greek meaning “delicate” or “graceful”, describing the changing nature of abrosexual folk.

Before learning about abrosexuality, many people mistakenly refer to abrosexual folk as pansexual. So let’s clear up the differences between these two exquisite sexualities once and for all.

As mentioned earlier, abrosexuality is characterized by fluid sexuality. These people can be gay in the morning, and by the time the day finishes go back to bed being straight. On the other hand, pansexuality refers to people who are attracted to people regardless of their gender and sexuality. Moreover, it is possible for an abrosexual person to be pansexual at times.

Abrosexual vs Abroromantic

Many people use these two terms interchangeably. And, who can blame them? After all, abrosexuality and abroromanticism are at first look identical. But, there is a difference between them.

Despite both terms having the same prefix “abro”, one describes a person’s sexuality and the other a person’s romantic orientation. Romantic and sexual orientation often go hand in hand, but it isn’t a rule. Therefore, a person who is abrosexual may be cupioromantic, or aromantic.

There are several things you can do if the tests determine that you are abrosexual. Firstly, you can come out to your loved ones as abrosexual. Due to abrosexuality not being a mainstream term, you will more than likely have to describe to them what abrosexuality is. In that case, a written script can come in handy.
