Bronwyn

Bronwyn is one of the smartest students at Bayview High. She was competing with Simon to be valedictorian. Her dream is to go to Yale and goes to great lengths in order to do well in school. That includes stealing Chemistry exam answers when she found out she couldn’t ace it. 

While she has a hard time accepting wrong-doings, she cares for her family and the people around her deeply. After finding out that Maeve sent dirty pictures to Simon, she goes as far as threatening to kill him if he doesn’t stop seeing her.

Addy

Addy is the character that evolves the most through the show. At the start, she’s dating Jake who is a massive control freak. He controls all aspects of her life, even how she will dress. After everyone finds out she cheated on him with TJ, Jake breaks up with her. 

Even though she is miserable following the breakup, it ends up being good for her. She starts doing the things she enjoys and finds new friends. She even makes a drastic change by cutting her long hair into a pixie cut. She is smarter than she looks, but people only take her for her looks. Addy is loyal to the “Murder Club” members and is the one who reaches out to Janae.

Cooper

Being a baseball prodigy should be easy. But that’s not the case for Cooper. He is gay and has to keep that a secret in order to play professional baseball. That only becomes harder when he has to balance the relationship between Kris and Keely, as well as hide it from his father. 

Cooper’s secret that he was using steroids revealed through Simon’s About That was false. It was changed by Jake who didn’t want the school to know that he has a gay friend. Cooper is charismatic, kind and caring.

Nate

Nate Macauley lives with his father and is known as the bad boy of Bayview High. His mother left them while he was still young, but he told everyone that she passed away. He was arrested for dealing drugs and is the biggest suspect in Simon’s murder.

He is tough, but also kind-hearted to the ones who try to get close to him. He has feelings for Bronwyn which resurface after he takes her home on his bike. 

Jake

Jake is the captain of the football team. He is the most popular guy in school. After finding out from Simon that Addy cheated on him, he plans a plot to set her up as well as her friends for murder. He convinced Simon to a dare where Simon would get an allergic reaction to see how the other students in detention react. This is different from the book, where Jake was just Simon’s accomplice.

At the end of the show, Jake is killed by the Murder Club. While authorities presume him as missing, this time Bronwyn and the crew have something to hide.

Simon

Simon didn’t like how pretentious everyone was. He took it upon himself to reveal everyone’s secrets by posting them on his app About That. He had a crush on Bronwyn’s kid sister, Maeve. His only friend is Janae, who gets heartbroken after his death.
