What Is XO, Kitty About?

XO, Kitty is a new Netflix series that caught everyone’s attention. It is a spin-off of the “To All The Boys” movies. It follows Kitty Covey, the youngest sister, in her journey to finding true love. She moves halfway across the world to be with her long-distance boyfriend Dae, however, things take an unexpected turn.

Kitty Covey

Kitty is the main character in XO, Kitty. She has chest-long brown hair and brown eyes. Unlike her two sisters Lara Jean and Margot who look like her mother who passed away when she was 2, Kitty resembles her father. Thus, she looks more Caucasian than Asian.

She’s a witty and sarcastic person who isn’t afraid to speak her mind. She applies to KISS without any guidance, and when she easily persuades her parents to let her go. She’s in love with her long-distance boyfriend Dae for whom she’s ready to move to South Korea. She’s incredibly clever and takes great pride in her heritage.

Dae Heon Kim

Dae is the son of a chauffeur that works for a famous rich businessman Han. Furthermore, he’s her daughter’s tutor. He is one of the best students at KISS but due to his background, he has trouble paying for tuition. He makes a deal with Yuri to be her boyfriend in exchange for money.

When Kitty surprises him at the Welcoming party he is seen with Yuri which puts a strain on their relationship. Due to Kitty’s rash attitude, he has trouble showing her that he didn’t cheat. His two best friends are Q Shabazian and Min Ho.

Yuri Han

Yuri is a rich and popular social media influencer. She is the daughter of two successful parents, a businessman, and the principal of KISS. Yuri is a paparazzi magnet and she enjoys the attention. However, she doesn’t want all her secrets revealed to the public.

Her biggest secret is her sexuality. She is in love with her best friend Juliana. Due to the backlash she would receive from her parents, as well as from the media, she keeps their relationship a secret. In addition to that, she pays Dae to pretend to be her boyfriend to make others less suspicious.

Q Shabazian

Q Shabazian is an American student at KISS. He has a heart of gold and quickly becomes Kitty’s best friend. Q’s good-natured personality allows Kitty to confide in him. He is very supportive of Kitty and instantly sees she's the right girl for Dae.

He is one of the school’s handful of openly gay students. However, sometimes he has confidence issues. He didn't want to ask Florian out because he thought they're not of a same social status. Lastly, he's the leader of a school's outdoor club.

Min Ho

Min Ho is a privileged guy who is used to getting whatever he desires. After his parent’s messy divorce, he was left on his lonesome most of the time. That taught him how to be self-dependent, but also the value of true friends.

Moreover, Q and Dae are the only people close to him. Thus, he goes to the great lengths to sabotage Kitty in attempt to protect Dae. He is very proud of his skincare and has done it consistently for years without skipping a day.
