Newt

Newt is a smart, kind, and focused character in the movie. Though he is second in command to Alby, he appears to be more level headed in his approach. He has a more noble and sustainable way of working in society in order to preserve it. Newt's ideologies are quite different from Alby's. He is a teenage boy with fresh ideas and different perspectives. His unique approach is what ultimately leads to finding an exit to the maze.

Teresa

Teresa is the only girl on the crew. She does not show meek and timid behaviour. Even though she was insulted for being the only girl, she channelized the anger by challenges the sexist attitude of the Gladers. Teresa is a bold, confident, and highly capable woman who fears no one. She single-handedly deals with the patriarchal mindset and leaves no stone unturned to prove her dominance over any man in the situation.

Minho

Minho is one of those people who believes in the power of intuition. He oversaw walking the runners through the maze. His approach of intuition over meticulous planning and logic landed him in trouble. However, Minho didn’t look away from his mistakes. He owns up to them and takes full responsibility. This is what makes him a loyal and trustworthy friend and companion.

Aris

Aris Jones was the only male member in the second group having only female members. He was a great ally and best friend to Thomas and Newt. He is feisty and knows his way around the maze. Confident and strong in his approach, Aris is a great character to relate to.

Gally

Gally is one of those hotheads who resort to threats and violence to get the job done. He is an arrogant chap who throws anger fits and indulges in violent acts to threaten other boys. Though these flaws cannot be ignored, Gally is not all bad news. He has a deep sense of care and responsibility towards the safety of the Gladers.
